Our Staff at Ultimate Karate
Akira Onoda (6th dan Black Belt & B.Ed)
Mr. Onoda was born in Japan and started training karate at the age of 11. Since
he moved to Toronto as a karate instructor in 1987, he has taught traditional
and wado-ryu karate to thousands of adults and children. Mr. Onoda is the
leader of Wado-kai Karate Canada Federation(WKCF), which was founded in 1988.
He is also a certified boxing coach (NCCP) and a certified kickboxing
instructor (NAPMA).
Ilona Demian (Instructor)
Ilona Demian is first-degree black belt and has trained karate since 1985.
She was rated 3rd in forms (kata) division in Ontario in 1997.
Brian Liska (Instructor)
Brian Liska has trained karate under Mr. Onoda since 1997, and is
currently first-degree black belt. He was ranked 2nd in Ontario and 4th in
Canada in free-sparring (kumite)in 2004. He continues his training and
helps children in the class.
Leslie Wiggins (Instructor)
Leslie Wiggins is a certified fitness kickboxing instructor and personal
trainer. She has over 20 years of teaching experiences in group fitness
instructions.
